Ford Dealer who actually helped!
As we've been driving, our engine light went on and we've been calling and looking for a place where they will look at our engine for us. (not that many places will fix an RV so far) We finally found a Ford Dealer in Corning that would check it out. So first thing this morning we packed up and drove into the town of Corning and dropped off our RV.

Barber uses razor/Darrel is perplexed
We spent the day walking around the town while they worked on our, still unnamed, RV. We visited hardware stores, a hair salon (who had no available time) : ( a barbershop for Darrel, Chinese restaurant for lunch, Olive Pitt Cafe for olives.

Miles of olive trees
Corning is noted for their olives. They have miles and miles of olive trees. The barbers (where you can always get the scoop) said they are in the process of pulling up the olive orchards and replacing them with almond trees as the olives are to expensive to farm. They pronounce almonds, amens. (a like in Dad) I'm wondering what will happen to the Olive Pit Cafe when there are no more olive orchards. They had every kind of stuffed olive you could think of, well almost. They had a counter where you could sample as many as you wanted. Darrell likes green olives so it was heaven for him. I'm a black olive kind of person and they only had one sample of those. They did sell chocolate though, so I was in heaven too.
Our RV was fixed, apparently rodents chewed on some wires to the injector and so something was misfiring. We're not sure if this happened before we got the RV or after. Anyway it wasn't covered by our warranty and cost $360. Ouch!

Rolling Hills Casino, Corning
Well, after that big loss we thought we should visit a casino rv park. Ha! We are staying at Rolling Hills Casino RV Park. It costs the same as the place we stayed last night and is sort of the same environment, without the 5 highway right next to it. We'll checkout the restaurant in the casino, it's suppose to be a good one. The other thing about Corning is that it's a very windy place. So with the wind and rain it's a challenge to walk around. I guess it doesn't matter much since these last two places aren't by any hiking areas. Today the rain was sparse and the huge rain clouds are racing by in the mostly blue sky. It's like watching a time lapsed video. Pretty cool!
