Lake Elsinore April19--22

Day 15

Left Lake Morena and headed toward Lake Elsinor. We spent most of the day driving to an RV repair place to get our tires looked out. We found it's really hard to check the air in the tires or put air in and needed some kind of extensions. Didn't find anything. We also got gas at Cosco. Basically all the side trips took most of the day. We started out at 9am and got to Lake Elsinor at 3pm.

The sites here are really close together. (Sardines comes to mind). We lucked out because Diane gave us a choice and we picked a site that didn't have a scheduled occupant on either side. Nice! The view is beautiful. There's kid's swimming in the water and lots of fishing going on. The water is good here, so first thing, we filled our water tank.

Did I mention poké stops. Well for those who care there's only one stop here at the entrance, but several near by. (Patriotic Horses, Planted Cowboys (2))

Day 16
Laundry Day! Wow can't believe we went so long without a daily washing machine episode like at home. It's not that we're wearing dirty clothes we're just not throwing wet towels on the floor and such. Darrel has realized it's ok to wear something more than one time. (Ha!)

Walked a mile and 1/2 to a nice taco place for lunch today. (Tacos Nayarit) Wow, the food was great! They are family run, make everything homemade and have two restaurants in the the same little shopping center, The other place, El Nayarit, features seafood. Evelyn was our waitress. She told us about the family and that they came from Nayarit in Mexico. Their menu has a map on it that shows where Nayarit is. It was a fun lunch. Ok, it was a major Pokémon stop with lots of pokémon at our table. I got a couple of shiny.

Lakeside High School/Library
Passed a Riverside County Community Library (Lakeside Vick Knight Library) on the way back and stopped in to check out their wi-fi.  It was so nice and quiet in there. They are part of Lakeside High School, which we are right across the street from. They are open when the high school is closed. 3-8 weekdays and 10-6 weekends. All year. During the school day the high school uses the library. I thought that was pretty unique and a great idea.

The traffic here is really heavy. Not a place I'd chose to live even with the beautiful lake, just too many people using the main road.

Day 17
The Lobby
Happy Easter! Up early today, first to sit in what they call the lobby, (A place with picnic tables near the office and mini mart) to use the wi-fi to update and backup our devices. For some reason it only works on the devices that have cell service. After that we decided to bike 2 miles to a Lutheran Church for the Easter Service. It seemed the least crazy name for a service we might recognize. They have some odd named churches within biking distance. One is R.A.W. Church. Their symbol is a guy with a sword and the words "The Enemy is at the Gates!"
At the moment very few people are up and about so it's quiet. You can see the beautiful lake and hear the birds talking to each other. But you can also hear all the cars up on the Riverside road going by. Lots of motorcycles. I thought there'd be less traffic on Easter Sunday morning, but it doesn't sound like it.

The church was very nice and the people very welcoming.
Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church
They invited us to their pot luck breakfast after the service which was good for us, as we didn't work in time to eat before having to pedal off to the church. They wished us well on our travels and we pedaled off. We got a few wave honks as the church members passed us on the road. : )
